I can almost taste the Bonnie Belle strawberry-flavored "lip smacker," the clove cigarettes, and yes the delicious repetitious strains of "Jesse's Girl" played again and again (and again) because when you're a One Hit Wonder, you've only got so much vocal range and so many guitar chords with which to work. Oh, Dan, Rick Springfield, you are so taking me back. I'm Bound to Win eventually! Let's see - embarrassing moments. In summer. Nothing springs to mind. (Or summers to mind, I guess.) Except, maybe, in retrospect, those 80s silver parachute pants and the Rick Springfield haircut! But it seemed like a good idea at the time. Triumphant? I sold my first book in the summer. My first kiss was in the summer. (Also second kiss, third, fourth ... ok, I admit I soon lost count.) Does that qualify? What am I saying -- this is a romance author's blog, of course it does!
