Hi Cecelia,

Well, yes, it was a good cupcake. If they provided treadmills while you waited, well, I might tackle the line, too.

I'm more savory than sweet myself, so it's this great East Village cheese shop that's my happy place. And no, I'm not sharing the location because right now I don't have to stand in line, and I'd just as soon keep it that way). ;)

The Magnolia Bakery opened a second location in Midtown at Rockefeller Center. It was on the Late Night with Conan O'Brien show last night. It looks a lot bigger than the original store and yes, Conan got to cut the line.

I guess it helps if you come with a film crew. :)

LOL, Audrey, it *is* a small world and getting smaller all the time. The same folks who have Tea & Sympathy have another restaurant in the West Village, also on Greenwich. It's Salt & Battery!!! (I should get them to come up with my next book title). It's more of a fish n' chips shop. I haven't tried it yet but yes, it's on my "list."

Hope! I love your blog it's hee-larious! Check out mine at: http://multitude-audrey.blogspot.com/

A neighbour of mine here in Blighty is an original investor of Tea and Sympathy in New York. I remember going there before I moved to England and being really charmed. Oh well, you know what they say about familiarity...it's more un-charmed then contempt. Anyway, it's a small world.

Note to self: do not read about food when hungry!

Okay, Elizabeth, I'm there. In fact I'm so hungry right now I could be literally there--any of those "there's"--in minutes!

My fridge is so bare I'm thinking of having reduced fat mayo for lunch--as an entree--so I guess you could say I'm um..."saving up" for the big food splurge. Or you could say I hate grocery shopping. The result is the same.

I'm definitely on the prowl for a new pizza place, and fortunately the city is chockful of 'em. The Amores woman treated me majorly bad last night, so I'm definitely running low on customer loyalty. The famed "Soup Nazi" would have been nicer.
