Hey, Hope -

I can't imagine she was prettier than you, no matter how many years younger...

I'm convinced NYC and DC are about the worst possible places to find good men, but I have no idea where better places would be. I suspect a more liberal place somewhere in the middle of the country, but then perhaps that, too, is a fairy tale.

Glad you're enjoying the single life. I admit that I like hearing about it, but I'm not sure I'd want to live it.

Take good care, and best of luck finding all you're looking for. : )

Hey Elizabeth,

I wanted to be outside, and it was beautiful if nippy. As much as I complain about being cold--and warning, I'm ramping up for my winter-long whine "as we speak"--I will brave some pretty dire temperatures for the experience of being outside.

Re Mr. Big et al, I think it's interesting the international reach these characters apparently have. Of all Carrie's amours, Aidan was the most centered for sure. And he was sexy albeit in a "granola" kind of way. Now (John) Burger annoyed the heck out of me. What a whiner. As for Big, well, I did kind of drink the Kool-Aid, I'm afraid. That series finale episode in Paris really got to me. Sniff, sniff...

Re these German "girls," though, I was like, "You can't find men to screw with your head and make you cry back in Germany? You gotta come here for that?"

I never drank the Kool-Aid when it came to Carrie and Big, in terms of it being this great love affair. In fact, I always thought it was dysfunctional in a not very good way. And why were you outside, you poor thing and not drinking in doors at Bryant Park?
